AUSL Modena – Regarding the health care situation in Fanano, the following is specified:

Regarding the organization of urgency and emergency services in the Frignano area, the Modena Local Health Authority reiterates that it constantly works to guarantee assistance to citizens.

The current model includes a protocol with the affiliated medicine to support the emergency and urgency system in the event of red codes. Since the end of January, an Assistance and Urgency Center (CAU) has also been opened in Fanano, a structure designed to respond to low-complexity emergencies in the transformation of the First Intervention Point, with staff relating to Primary Care.

The Company is working to find a new organizational solution to more appropriately integrate the professional figures employed in the two organizational forms mentioned above. This is also done by constantly monitoring the criteria based on which to guarantee the emergency service, in full compliance with the arrival times at the location of the call and the centralization of patients in the healthcare response services.

In a concrete way, given the peculiarities of the territory in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the healthcare action, the Company is investing further by immediately starting an increase of two nurses to strengthen the healthcare staff, and also strengthening the collaboration with the associations of local public assistance. All this in coherence with regional resolution 1206/2023 for the reorganization of the emergency-urgency.

Calls to 118 are in any case guaranteed through the nursing and medical crews available for the emergency, always in coordination with the 118 reference Operations Centre.

It also activates the planning of an innovative model of healthcare for mountain areas, which strengthens the response in the area and is based on the valorisation of primary healthcare (general medicine and continuity of care doctors).

This organizational model provides for greater additional attention and resources dedicated to home care for low-complexity needs, through the involvement of general medicine. The objective is to evolve the traditional CAU model towards a service more capable of responding to the needs of high mountain citizens, integrating all existing resources, also significantly strengthening the response during particularly busy periods tourist.
