An eclectic, brilliant, cultured figure who contributed to writing a piece of history of Modena psychiatry. The Local Health Authority of Modena thus remembers Dr. Camillo Valgimigli, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, who passed away today at the age of 84.
Born in Romagna, in 1980 he started working for the then USL n.16 of Modena. He will remain there until 2006, the year of his retirement, but he will never sever the bond with the city that welcomed him. Those who were lucky enough to work with him remember a witty and attentive professional, with a thousand facets and interests, which led him to cover various roles even outside of the strictly work environment. For years, in fact, Dr. Valgimigli collaborated with national and local newspapers on various topics, thanks to the profound culture he possessed. Passionate about psychogeriatrics, he represented an important point of reference for the birth and development of territorial psychiatric assistance following law 180, the so-called Basaglia reform.
