Avianca’s Solidarity Efforts: Promoting Health and Well-being in Vulnerable Communities

Avianca Demonstrates Commitment to Health and Well-being of Vulnerable Communities on World Health Day

On World Health Day, Avianca reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the well-being of vulnerable communities in Colombia and beyond. The airline’s efforts between 2023 and 2024 resulted in over 19,000 individuals in 11 Colombian departments receiving specialized medical care, thanks to partnerships with organizations such as Colombian Civil Air Patrol (PAC), Alas para la Gente, Airlink, and Operación Sonrisa Colombia. Additionally, Avianca Cargo provided free transportation of humanitarian aid to destinations in Guatemala, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic as part of this solidarity initiative.

The health brigades organized by Avianca and its social allies had a significant impact on thousands of people in need. Collaborating with PAC, Airlink, Alas para la Gente, and Operación Sonrisa, Avianca facilitated access to various medical services, including general healthcare, dental, ophthalmological, gynecological, and pediatric care. Notably, over 4,000 children received free and voluntary healthcare services, underscoring Avianca’s commitment to promoting equal access to healthcare for all.

Felipe Andrés Gómez Vivas, the director of sustainability and institutional relations at Avianca, emphasized the importance of this solidarity initiative and the pivotal role of the Lifemiles Mileage Bank in supporting social causes. Avianca’s collaboration with Airlink also enabled the free transport of humanitarian aid to countries in need. The airline encourages its customers to contribute to these noble causes by donating their mileage through the Lifemiles website, reinforcing its dedication to driving positive social change and enhancing community well-being.

As Avianca continues to champion health and well-being in vulnerable communities, it invites individuals to follow their journey on various social media platforms such as Telegram, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, and TikTok. By staying connected with Avianca, supporters can stay informed about ongoing initiatives and opportunities to make a difference.
