Carmila and Red Cross Collaborate to Promote Social Principles and Entrepreneurship in Spain

Carmila and Red Cross join forces to promote social principles and entrepreneurship in Spain

Carmila, a real estate company, and the humanitarian entity Red Cross have formalized a collaboration agreement aimed at spreading the social principles of both organizations and pursuing joint objectives for the benefit of Spanish society.

The collaboration between the two entities has been ongoing for several years through the transfer of spaces, and now it has become official through an agreement signed by the President and CEO of Carmila, Marie Cheval, and the Secretary General of the Red Cross, Asuncion Montero Fuentes.

A key aspect of the agreement is the commitment to the “Impulse Employment Awards” project, which supports entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals. This initiative joins the actions that both entities have been carrying out in the Carmila shopping centers.

As part of this collaboration, Carmila has supported the “Premios Impulsa al Autoempleo” project created by the Red Cross. These awards provide financial aid and promote the business initiatives of entrepreneurs and the self-employed. In the 2023 edition, Carmila has contributed a total of €5,000 in financial awards across three candidates in the Consolidation category.

These direct aids from Carmila will support entrepreneurs with consolidated businesses, promoting the circular economy and sustainability. The funds may be invested in areas such as rental of premises, equipment, supplies, merchandise, and marketing.

The agreement also reinforces the existing relationship between both entities, with the Red Cross continuing its presence and activity in several of the Carmila spaces. This collaboration provides a platform for the Red Cross to disseminate its activities through information campaigns, membership recruitment, volunteering, social awareness, and activities related to employment.

Fátima Álvarez-Cofiño, ESG Manager and transversal projects at Carmila, stated that “This collaboration represents a joint commitment by Carmila and the Red Cross to contribute to social well-being and promote the entrepreneurial spirit in Spain. This action is proof of our company’s commitment to the territories and social justice.”

Through this agreement, both Carmila and the Red Cross aim to contribute to the promotion of social well-being and entrepreneurship in Spain. Access more responsible information in our digital library Co-responsible publications.
