TURIN. Marco Fraccalvieri was convinced that he had an excellent chance to win that competition in Medicine. Qualifications and experience, he had over 5,000 surgeries performed, made him feel quite confident. But that competition, Fraccalvieri, would never have won. The director of the specialty school of Plastic Surgery, Stefano Bruschi, told him on two occasions: “The place in the competition is already assigned.” And in fact, in April 2019, the place did not go to Fraccalvieri, but to Alessandra Bocchiotti.

The latter and Bruschi, this morning were convicted by the Turin court for having rigged the competition. Four months at the director, six at Bocchiotti. Prosecutor Giovanni Caspani had asked for a sentence of one year for him and for that of 9 months and 10 days.

Six people were initially investigated, but the position of Giovanni Bocchiotti, father of the winner of the competition and well-known medical director, was removed due to his health conditions while the prosecutor asked for the indictment of Carlo D’Aniello and Francesco D ‘ Andrea, two commissioners, whose trial will begin in November 2022. A third member of the commission, Corrado Rubino, was acquitted instead for not having committed the crime.
