From volleyball to archery. But also theatre, multimedia laboratory and psychological support, counseling and orientation service. At the Don Bosco Ranchibile in Palermo there are around one hundred young people taking part in Civic community spacesan initiative that includes various free activities with the opportunity to take advantage of a concrete space in which girls and boys are welcomed and valued, strengthening the educational values of sport, loyalty and mutual respect.
This is an initiative promoted by the Minister for Sport and Youth through the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in collaboration with Sports and Health SpA, the state company for the promotion of sport and correct lifestyles. An activity that involves the Salesian institute at 360 degrees and which will continue even at the end of the volleyball and archery courses. But also theatre, multimedia laboratory and psychological support, counseling and orientation service.
The aim is to create a starting point, a basis for an initiative that also aims to look at families and the territory. A “call to social participation”, aimed at young people aged 14 to 34. The “Don Bosco” civic space started its activity last October 18th and will end at the end of the two years foreseen by the project. A space open to anyone who wants to sign up. The lead company of the project isAsd Pgs, Salesian Youth Sports Center Don Bosco Villa Ranchibile.
And working in synergy as partners of the project are the associations Cgs Cinecircoli youth socioculturals, Aps Association of social promotion and National Association of cinemat culture, the Salesian youth center “Don Bosco” and the Municipality of Palermo, Department of Innovation. These associations are accompanied by the commitment of many volunteers and professionals who give life to a program of activities which, in addition to leisure and entertainment, aims directly at the ambitious objective of social growth of the entire community, driven by the driving force of young people.
