An earthquake measuring 6.4 was registered in the province of Jujuy, Argentina. This was announced by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center. The earthquake occurred at 1pm local time (5pm in Italy) at a depth of 212km. About forty minutes earlier, another quake, of magnitude 5.2 was recorded in the same area at a depth of 228 kilometers.
