Minister of Health Implements Law 24 with New Decree, Protecting Healthcare Professionals

After 7 years, the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, has finally implemented Law 24/2017 with a new decree that establishes minimum guarantee limits for insurance coverage of personnel and healthcare facilities. In an interview with QS, Schillaci called the decree “an act of protection that generates a virtuous mechanism” for healthcare professionals.

The decree also highlights the importance of complying with the obligations of the ECM training, as failure to do so could leave professionals exposed in the event of a dispute. Schillaci emphasized the link between fulfilling ECM training and ensuring effective insurance coverage for healthcare workers.

“This decree represents a turning point that will allow us to have safer healthcare facilities and guarantee a higher level of care for patients,” Schillaci stated. “It is a virtuous mechanism that will have a positive impact on medical-patient litigation.”

The implementation of Law 24 and the new decree signal a significant step towards the complete protection of healthcare workers and patients within the national health system. It serves as a reminder of the importance of continuous training and education for healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.

The decree has been long-awaited and is expected to have a positive impact on the healthcare system. It is a crucial measure that will help improve the quality of care provided to patients while offering greater protection to healthcare professionals.
