Elderly people with a broken femur, go to orthogeriatrics: four beds in Medicine

MANTUA. The orthogeriatric path begins at the Mantua hospital. Asst has activated four dedicated beds, within the general medicine ward, for the management of elderly patients with hip fracture, which requires a multidisciplinary approach due to its high complexity. Hip fracture in over 65s is one of the most frequent causes of hospitalization, increased mortality and loss of self-sufficiency.
