Empowering Employees and Making Social Contributions: The Impact of Better Companies Ranking

21 Mexican companies ranked in Latin American Better Companies ranking

The Latin American Better Companies ranking evaluated healthy practices of more than 3,000 companies in six Latin American countries. The ranking encourages companies to generate impact both in its internal environment and in the external community.

The index, developed by personalized protection platform Betterfly, evaluated the healthy practices of more than 3,000 companies in six Latin American countries: Mexico, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil, ranging from small and medium-sized companies with 30 employees to large corporations with more than 5,000 employees. The ranking considered healthy habits such as walking, sleeping, meditating, and social donations, with the latter adding a solidarity and social impact dimension to the business evaluation.

Among the standout Mexican companies in the ranking are Akron, Krispy Kreme, and Rassini, which are in the top twenty. Other Mexican companies such as Actinver, Crediclub, and Galileo are within the top two hundred positions.

Promoting a healthier lifestyle can be key in preventing disease, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO highlights that at least 80% of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes could be avoided with small changes in daily habits such as a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and meditation, among others.

Lina Vanegas, Head of Marketing at Betterfly, commented that initiatives that encourage teams to be more active and work on an improved version of themselves are highly valued by employees. Betterfly’s approach goes beyond prevention, as the index and platform show that small incentives, healthy competition, and gamification generate motivation and positive changes in the daily lives of people in Mexico, creating a domino effect in improving habits and general well-being.
