Fedez’s SOS: “Pancreatic enzymes cannot be found”

Fedez Raises Alarm about Shortage of Pancreatic Enzymes

Italian rapper Fedez recently took to social media to raise awareness about the shortage of pancreatic enzymes, a critical issue that has affected him and many others who require the medication for medical reasons.

Having undergone pancreatic cancer surgery in March 2022, Fedez shared his concerns on Instagram, stating, “I’m receiving lots of emails about a problem that I’ve also encountered. Having had pancreatic surgery, like all people like me, I need to take pancreatic enzymes to be able to eat and assimilate food, and we are having problems.”

The rapper expressed his frustration at the scarcity of the medication, emphasizing the impact it has on his ability to maintain a healthy diet and digestion. Fedez also called on his followers to share their experiences and urged them to send their emails to the Ministry of Health to address the issue.

In response to Fedez’s plea, the Ministry of Health acknowledged the shortage of pancreatic enzymes, particularly the drug Creon, and assured that they are actively working to address the situation. The Ministry stated that the manufacturing company has communicated the impossibility of satisfying demand due to excess demand, leading to the shortage of the medication.

To alleviate the shortage, the Ministry of Health has encouraged healthcare facilities to import similar drugs authorized abroad and has provided pharmacies with the option to place direct orders with the manufacturer’s Customer Service if the product is unavailable through usual distribution channels.

The Ministry emphasized that they are closely monitoring the issue and implementing measures to ensure the therapeutic continuity for patients in need of pancreatic enzymes.
