Perhaps not everyone remembers or knows that in ancient Greece there was a custom that women from “good families” who had already become mothers and who were, therefore, older, attended the births of younger women, bringing the ancient experience practice transmitted within the family group and helping the youngest women giving birth in this delicate moment of their lives, reassuring and encouraging them.
