Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the best “foldable” around. The third generation marks a step forward in all components for what is currently the only real novelty in the smartphone landscape. More “robust” design, water resistant (IPX8), stylus (S-pen) are expected improvements that indicate even more the direction for the definitive “foldable” and distract us from that feeling of having two superimposed smartphones held together by a zipper.
Proof
After a two-week trial, the feeling is that of having the first real portable tablet in your hands, a large display that folds more than a folding smartphone. Working or simply surfing on social networks or information sites is really enjoyable. The unknown is the price. It is true that it costs 200 euros compared to the Fold 2, it is also true that with promotions it is cheaper and that investments must be taken into account to create a product of this type but 1800 euros these days are a lot, especially for the current one. smartphone market that is flattening out on the mid-range.

What we liked.
When you “sit” it and use a screen as a keyboard you realize that it is really a smartphone different from the others. The effect is that of a miniature laptop. The interface for managing the display is also good, which can be divided into multiple windows in a multi-tasking key. Also there are more optimized apps like Spotify, Gmail, Chrome and TikTok. Also nice the bright and fluid screen with video games (not all but in some titles it changes your life). The camera is of quality as Samsung has accustomed us in its top of the range but perhaps it is not a device that makes you want to take pictures due to its size.
What we didn’t like.
The S-Pen requires a separate housing (the cover), it would have been better to have it in the device but then you can’t complain about the size. Let’s be clear, the Fold is not bulky, it takes up the space of a smartphone. Change the thickness and weight (271 grams) but after a few days you don’t notice it anymore. The battery, on the other hand, does not exceed 8 hours, it could have been a bit longer-lived. The problem, however, is the perspective. The mistake is to consider it a smartphone like the others. It is true that it is a candidate to replace the Samsung Galaxy Note but exactly as the genesis of the “Note” was, it aims to become a truly different product from all the others. It is one of a kind.
