An internal document obtained by CNBC reveals that Google employees will have to get vaccinated if they intend to keep their jobs. The US company has demanded one proof of vaccination or a possible exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Who does not abide by this provision by January 18, 2022, will be placed on forced paid leave for 30 days. After this period, employees who continue to refuse the vaccine will be detained unpaid personal leave for six months, after which they will risk being fired.
“Our vaccination requirements are one of the most important ways we can protect our workforce and keep our services running, spokeswoman Lora Lee Erickson said. We are committed to doing everything possible to help our employees who can be vaccinated“.
In short, Google wants to follow at all costs the indications of the Biden administration, which asks American companies with more than 100 employees to demand vaccination from their workers (or alternatively a periodic Covid-19 test).
The company memo follows a ‘manifesto’ signed by several hundred Google employees a few weeks later: the large group opposes the mandatory vaccine in order to continue working.
