It is fixed at 25 October the start of the anti-flu vaccination campaign in Calabria.
The single contracting station, following the agreement stipulated with the commissioner structure, in execution of the law decree 150 of 2020 (“Urgent measures for the relaunch of the health service of the Calabria region and for the renewal of the elected bodies”), concluded the procedure of purchase for the 2021/2022 influenza vaccines, with the stipulation of framework agreements for a total of 565 thousand vaccine doses.
THE FREE VACCINATION
Will be offered the free vaccination for children aged between 6 months and 6 years, adults aged 60 and over and to health and social health workers particularly exposed to the risk of infection.
The vaccination campaign involves the involvement of the doctors of General medicine and free choice pediatricians, which will also have an active role in the implementation of the “influnet” epidemiological surveillance system, which is part of the Higher Institute of Health.
Even in the current flu vaccination season, given the persistence of the state of emergency linked to the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus, vaccination is of considerable importance, as a tool of proven effectiveness not only for the protection of the health of thousands of citizens, and among these in particular those most at risk, but also in the prevention and contrast of the pandemic, because it allows to distinguish, with appreciable effectiveness, the flu pathology from that from Covid-19.
PREVENTION
The importance of prevention and the need to adopt all the useful tools to combat the pandemic lead to recommend massive participation in the anti-flu vaccination campaign, addressing general practitioners, or pediatricians of free choice.
