The Stroke Unit at San Camillo Hospital in Rome Moves to New Department

ROME, MAY 07 – The Stroke Unit of the San Camillo hospital in Rome has been relocated to a brand new department equipped with the most modern equipment. The inauguration of the new unit was led by the president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, the general director of San Camillo Forlanini, Narciso Mostarda, the director of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social and Health Integration of the Lazio Region, Andrea Urbani, and the director of the Uosd Stroke Unit, Sabrina Anticoli.

“This is an important day for the large human and professional community of San Camillo-Forlanini. Thanks to the correct programming of the Pnrr resources, we have strengthened the Emergency-Urgency area,” highlighted Rocca. He also mentioned that with the opening of the new unit, 34 new beds will be available, including 18 for intensive care and 16 for semi-intensive care. Additionally, the hospital has doubled the number of beds in the Stroke Unit.

Rocca further stated, “Thanks to the purchase of a new CT scan and a new MRI, we have guaranteed the opening of outpatient services even on weekends. This, coupled with an investment of around 27 million euros for hiring new staff, will help reduce waiting lists and ensure timely and efficient treatment of patients.”

The new department at San Camillo Hospital is a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services for stroke patients in Rome. (HANDLE).
