How long do you have to wait after the illness for the Covid vaccine booster: 3 or 6 months?

How long do we have to wait after recovering from the disease to get the latest generation Covid vaccines? I’m a little confused, because in some countries it is enough that 3-4 months have passed, but in Italy the recommended waiting period is 6 months.

Can the herpes zoster vaccine and the Covid vaccine be done together? 02 February 2024

Dear reader,

The reference document in this regard is the ministerial indications relating to the vaccination campaign that began last autumn. There, for the administration of the booster with the new anti-Covid vaccines, an ideal interval of six months from the previous dose or from a previous Sars-Cov-2 infection is indicated. These are the general indications, but reference is also made to the possibility of reducing the interval up to a minimum of three months in the case of fragile patients or those who in any case can benefit from closer administration of the booster. The recommendation in our country is therefore, in general, to wait six months from the previous administration of the booster or from the illness, with the possibility, however, of anticipating, where necessary, even three or four months.
