Nanning Braces for Cold Wave, Strong Winds, and Light Rain
Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi, is set to experience a drastic change in weather starting today. The Guangxi Meteorological Observatory has issued warnings for a cold wave and freezing temperatures, with the mercury expected to drop to as low as 1°C for about a week.
Just yesterday, residents of Nanning basked in warm sunshine, but today, they are bracing for the impact of a cold front that will bring strong winds and light rain to the region. According to the observatory, Nanning will experience 5 to 8 days of low-temperature, cloudy, and rainy weather, with an average daily temperature of ≤12°C.
The sudden shift in weather is attributed to a strong cold air mass that began affecting the region last night. The temperature is expected to drop drastically, with the lowest temperature anticipated to occur on the 23rd and 24th, reaching a low of about 6°C.
While the cold wave and rain are expected to provide relief from the recent scorching temperatures, residents are urged to take precautions against the adverse effects of strong cooling and continuous low temperature and rainy weather on daily life and production.
The Guangxi Meteorological Observatory also predicts that the region will experience significant cooling in the early stage and maintain cold and rainy weather in the middle and late stages until the end of February. Northern and central Guangxi are expected to endure 5 to 8 days of low temperature and rainy weather, while southern Guangxi will experience it for 3 to 4 days.
As Nanning prepares for the onslaught of cold weather, residents are advised to stay bundled up and be prepared for the prolonged period of low temperatures with accompanying rain and strong winds.
