Carrying out a joint project to strengthen Operation Smile’s medical programs in low- and middle-income countries, increasing the impact of the commitment to the treatment of facial malformations to guarantee medical and surgical care for 1 million patients by 2032: this is the objective that Operation Smile intends to achieve also thanks to the contribution of Impresa Sorriso, the program designed by the organization for companies. The first to embrace the project was Johnson & Johnson MedTech Italia, an initiative shared with all employees during a meeting held last February 15th.

The company, which has always been attentive not only to the health of patients but also that of the communities in which it operates, has been alongside Operation Smile for over 30 years, as also explained by the President and CEO of Johnson & Johnson MedTech Italia, Gabriele Fischetto: «The J&J Creed is our charter of values and invites us every day to work to guarantee equal access to the best care in as many places as possible in the world.
This is why today I am proud to lead the first company in Italy that has chosen to join the ‘Impresa Sorriso’ programme, committing itself to supporting the medical and surgical care of dozens of children around the world. With this initiative we will promote fundraising activities throughout the year involving all colleagues in our organization and our partners, in order to also finance one of the 33 treatment centers that Operation Smile has around the world. I had the opportunity, together with many of our colleagues, to see the work of the Organization up close by participating in some of their surgical programs and this allowed us to witness the incredible value that our donations can have in changing concretely the lives of these children and their families.”
The program provides the opportunity to generate a tangible impact in the countries where the organization is present, through partnerships that allow the provision of medical and surgical care, the training of local medical personnel and the implementation of infrastructures to guarantee access to medical care for patients born with facial malformations.

Companies can join by choosing one of the three partnership levels provided, becoming Golden, Platinum or Diamond Partner, collaborating to guarantee complete and multidisciplinary assistance worldwide in the treatment of cleft lip and palate, from speech therapy to nutrition, from dentistry to orthodontics up to psychological support.
