Aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, with new disciplines and procedures becoming increasingly effective and innovative. According to Drs. Mar Mira and Sofia Ruiz del Cueto, research on neuromodulators is ongoing, with a focus on providing patients with faster and longer-lasting results while maintaining the quality of the procedure.
The doctors have identified two new substances, Type E neuromodulators and Fastox, as promising treatments for dynamic wrinkles. Type E neuromodulators have a quick “flash effect,” with noticeable results appearing within a few hours of treatment. Fastox, on the other hand, is a combination of muscle relaxant drugs that aims to increase the duration of action on dynamic wrinkles when used in conjunction with neuromodulator infiltrations.
In addition to these new treatments, there is also a pending approval for the use of neuromodulators in the platysma muscle. This innovative procedure targets wrinkles in the neck area, aiming to prevent the formation of “Platysma bands” by applying small infiltrations as papules to mark the facial oval and minimize contractions. The effects of this treatment can last up to six months, with results appearing within 4-5 days of treatment.
While these advancements in aesthetic medicine represent exciting developments, the doctors note that the medical approval process can be lengthy. However, they are optimistic about the potential benefits that these new treatments could offer to patients seeking effective and long-lasting solutions for facial aging and dynamic wrinkles.
