Install the public beta of iPadOS 15 and iOS 15 and become a tester for Apple

by admin

A little earlier than in other years, Apple has made available the first public betas of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, the two new operating systems for iPad and iPhone presented at the WWDC in early June. These two preliminary versions are not reserved only for developers, but anyone who wants to try the new firmware in advance of the official debut, scheduled for late summer or early autumn, can install them.

Before proceeding
The process of installing public betas is simple and it does not require special technical knowledge. However, we strongly advise against proceeding with the installation to those who cannot afford any type of malfunction of the devices, particularly if they are necessary for work. Apple’s public betas are usually fairly stable, but they are in any case preliminary firmware, which can have several bugs. In particular there is no certainty that all applications installed on the devices already work correctly with iPadOS 15 or iOS 15. Having made this necessary premise, the first step that we recommend to anyone who wants to try the public betas is backing up the device, on iCloud or locally. That way, if anything goes wrong, all your data will be safe.

How to install iPadOS 15 and iOS 15
Here are the steps required to install the beta versions of the new operating systems for iPad and iPhone:

  • Visit the site of Apple’s Beta program with the device on which you want to install the beta.

  • Log in with yours Apple Id (the one you use to access iTunes and the App Store).

  • Once connected, the site will automatically show the installation guide for the software of the device you are using.

  • Scroll to point 2 (Install Profile) and click on Download Profile to download the profile by which your iPhone or iPad will be able to receive the beta update.

  • Now exit Safari and open the Settings. Scroll to voice Profiles downloaded (it is among the first, above) and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the profile; at the end of this procedure the device will have to be restarted.

  • Then go back to the Settings, tap on General, then Software update to proceed with the installation of the iOS 15 or iPadOS15 beta update

The general beta rules, which are two in particular: report the bugs you find to Apple with the Feedback Assistant app; Don’t leave bad reviews for apps that don’t work, because not all developers have already updated their software for the new firmware.
