Are ROBOTS in surgery better than surgeons’ hands? More accurate and reliable? Researchers at the University of Texas compared 50 randomized trials to evaluate the quality and outcomes of robotic-assisted abdominal pelvic surgery versus laparoscopy or traditional surgery. And their analysis found that “most of the studies showed no differences in intraoperative complications, conversion rates to open surgery, and long-term outcomes.”
