New Netflix Docuseries “You are what you eat: Gemini Comparison” Highlights Vegan Diet Benefits

The newest docuseries on Netflix, “You are what you eat: Gemini Comparison,” has caught the public’s attention for its fascinating exploration of the benefits of a plant-based diet. Directed by Louie Psihoyos, the series showcases the results of a scientific study conducted by Stanford Medicine, involving 22 pairs of homozygous twins who followed either a healthy omnivorous or vegan diet for 8 weeks.

The documentary reveals the significant improvements in health observed in the twin who had eliminated animal proteins from their diet. Following the experiment, the participants’ eating habits reflected a shift towards more responsible omnivorous diets, with a reduction in red meat consumption and a focus on better nutritional values.

The series also sheds light on the damaging effects of the Standard American Diet (SAD) on public health, with many Americans suffering from illnesses associated with a diet high in ultra-processed foods and low consumption of vegetables and fruits.
