Messina, work begins on the Bisazza Institute gym

After years of anticipation, Bisazza High School is finally set to have its own gym by the start of the 2025-26 school year. In recent days, the works were officially handed over to the company tasked with carrying out the construction, marking a significant milestone for the school.

The Madonie company, based in Gangi, was awarded the contract with a substantial reduction on the auction base price. The gym will be built in an area adjacent to the school, within the complex, and will feature large, bright spaces with plenty of glass sections.

Given the close proximity of the construction site to the school buildings, careful planning will be required to ensure minimal disruption to school activities. An inspection is scheduled to determine how to divide the spaces and manage the entrance gate effectively.

The gym will serve the approximately 750 students at the secondary school, with the facility designed to comply with CONI regulations for sports facilities. It will feature a regulation basketball court and ample ventilation and natural lighting to create a comfortable and safe environment for users.

With the construction planned to be completed within 15 months, students and staff at Bisazza High School can look forward to enjoying the new gymnasium and potentially expanding their extracurricular activities in the future.
