Microsoft today announced a larger-scale reopening of its offices around the world starting March 29 and from its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, United States. The US company has announced that it will allow employees working in Redmond to choose between returning full-time to the office, continuing to work from home and the possibility of adopting a flexible, ‘hybrid’ model.
Microsoft wrote that “the data shows that the campus can safely accommodate more employees, while staying within the limits allowed by the state of Washington.” Microsoft offices in 21 states are already in a position to accommodate more employees, or approximately 20% of the global workforce. In all, Microsoft has over 160,000 employees. On Wall Street, the company’s stock is up 2.6% today.
