343 Industries is internally testing the idea of purchasable Spartan Points in Halo: The Master Master Series. The idea stems from the previous use of Season Points, which were tied to the Season Update used by the game, which is no longer being done due to the decision to leave the Season itself.
As noted in a recent Halo Waypoint blog, Spartan Points will be the way players earn cosmetic items previously associated with Season Points, and will be earned by completing challenges in the game or purchasing them directly for real money.
“For players new to MCC, or players who may not have spent much time specifically unlocking items during seasonal updates, or completionists just looking to grab the last unfinished item they need, we’re exploring the future internally Potential new feature, Spartan Points that can be purchased.
343 Industries followed up on this announcement, confirming multiple times that it will be an “optional, add-on alternative” for players who “want to get ahead of (or skip) the ordeal”. How this will be handled in the game, and how much Spartan Points will retail for, remains a mystery, as 343 has simply stated that more information on this feature will come in the future.
