Multiple sclerosis, the invisible disease and the courage to react and hope

by admin

An invisible disease is like a cloud: it escapes any attempt to precisely define its appearance, shape and texture. Daniela Mazzoleni has long experienced the sensation of being shrouded in thick fog, in a precarious and uncomfortable condition that others did not understand. She felt almost an “imaginary patient” until, after so many attempts, visits, examinations, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Thus began a difficult path to accept his situation and follow a personal path to react.

Daniela found great support in the Aism association (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, www.aism.it, [email protected]) and has managed over time to bring out a strength that she didn’t think she had. Her tenacity and her desire to live are also expressed through small gestures: «It is enough – she says – to take care of myself, to be able to wear heels again. I discovered that every little conquest can give courage ».
