SPIAZZO RENDENA. Jessica, Natalia, Fernando and Cristian are young, graduated and eager to lead a dignified life. They have crossed the Atlantic Ocean and since last Saturday they have lived and worked in Spiazzo, in the heart of the Rendena. They come from Paraguay. And we already hear someone ask: “Para what?”.
Yes, because from South America we know Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile for the emigrants from Trentino and for football, Colombia for coffee and coca, and little else. Without pretending to give a geography lesson, Paraguay has an area 40% larger than Italy and has just 6 million inhabitants; it is squeezed in the middle of the landlocked continent and has a distinctive flag. Let’s go back to Spiazzo. The four professionals trained at the Catholic University of Nursing and at the University of Unves, in Villarrica, and then worked in the emergency room of the same University, “where they acquired important skills”, assures the president of the nursing home. San Vigilio di Spiazzo, Giovanna Tomasini.
«In recent months – echoes the director Roberto Povoli – they have developed the idea of moving to Italy. So we arrived at the goal ».
«They have been months of considerable work – comments Tomasini – with an effort for the management staff, which involved many figures to get to the result; thanks go to the local and provincial institutions, which completed the paperwork in record time ».
A curiosity: do we really have to go and get nurses in Paraguay? In truth, the recent arrival in another structure for the elderly of nurses from Tirana comes to mind, with an agreement of the Federation of Cooperatives with the Albanian University. “We – explains the president – have had the migration of four nurses to the healthcare company, against whose competition there is nothing we can do: higher salaries, less stress, career opportunities, stronger attractiveness than that of retirement homes. . But at this point, President Tomasini removes the stone that has been scratching her foot for at least a month. «I would like to point out that the four did not leave because of the hardships they experienced inside the structure, because there are no hardships.
