PISTOIA – Two hundred thousand thousand euros for the redevelopment of the historic Giovanni Marini gymnasium in via Antonini, Pistoia.
This morning the inspection by the mayor Alessandro Tomasi, the councilor for sports facilities Alessandra Frosini and the technicians of the municipality.
“Made up to standard and safe for sports clubs and school students who carry out physical activity here – highlighted Tomasi – It is a school gym, has an important history and is bound by the Fine Arts. Doing the work creates inconvenience and we thank the sports clubs for their patience, now we are returning a safe gym ”.
With the first contract, at an expense of 80 thousand euros, the covering of the sports facility was redone, then a double waterproofing sheath replacing the 580 square meters. Subsequently, with a further intervention of the administration of 105 thousand euros, the gym was re-plastered externally and internally: external plaster made with lime and the walls repainted for almost 700 square meters.
The works began with a notching of the plaster that brought the masonry back to life, finally the recovery of the concrete cover of the reinforced concrete pillars. An external ramp was also built.
The extraordinary maintenance work began at the end of 2020 and then concluded in the last few weeks. In addition to the new roofing and plasters, the verification and restoration of the fire and electrical systems and the renewal of part of the gymnastic equipment was carried out.
