What is RSV

Respiratory syncytial virus is an RNA virus that can cause pediatric bronchiolitis and pneumonia in winter, mainly affecting children aged 0 to 5 years. Most children contract the virus by the age of two but immunity is short lived so it is not unusual for a child to contract RSV several times before the age of 5.
