This was declared by the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci when announcing the appointment of Professor Rocco Bellantone as president of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
The appointment took place by decree of the Prime Minister dated 19 December 2023, on the proposal of the Minister of Health himself.
Formerly dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome, Professor Bellantone has held the role of Extraordinary Commissioner of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità since September 2023, before his appointment as president.
