Regional councilor Guido Bertolaso is making waves in the healthcare industry with his bold stance against cooperatives and coin-operated doctors in the Lodi area. The revolution has already begun at the Delmati hospital in Sant’Angelo, where changes are underway to bring all medical staffing in-house.
Currently, there are no paid doctors in the Lodi area, not even in the emergency room. However, cooperatives have been active in the region, with one such cooperative providing nursing coverage in the long-term care unit at Sant’Angelo hospital. But all that is about to change.
The general director of the Asst, Guido Grignaffini, announced that the contract with the cooperative is set to expire on March 31. Instead of renewing the contract, the Asst is looking to bring the nursing staff on board as freelancers, internalizing the work that was previously outsourced.
This move comes as part of a larger initiative by Regional councilor Guido Bertolaso to crack down on cooperatives and coin-operated doctors in the healthcare sector. The Lodi Asst currently has contracts totaling approximately 3 million euros, and the shift towards bringing services in-house could result in significant cost savings for the region.
As the healthcare industry in Lodi undergoes this transformation, it is clear that change is on the horizon. Regional councilor Guido Bertolaso’s efforts are aimed at improving efficiency and transparency in the healthcare system, ultimately benefiting patients and taxpayers alike.
