Science calls it silent tumor and it quickly takes over our body

by admin

Among all the cancers that can affect us, some are really difficult to guess, if not through prevention. As we always claim on our pages, blood tests, urine tests and annual check-ups can be fundamental in the prevention in the fight against diseases. Especially in cases like this, when science itself is sometimes stunned by its advance. Science calls it silent tumor and it quickly takes over our body, taking advantage of its function through the blood. And if according to international studies if we do these jobs we could be more exposed to cancer, let’s keep the attention high also on this type of cancer.

No sign of his presence

The trouble with liver cancer, which is precisely defined as silent, is that it does not initially manifest itself clearly. Unfortunately, only when it is widespread, or even in metastasis, does it make us understand that it is present in our body. Here then are classic symptoms of the tumor, such as:

  • bloating of the stomach;
  • severe pain in the abdominal area;
  • substantial loss of weight and appetite;
  • nausea and vomit;
  • lack of appetite;
  • chronic fatigue;
  • fever;
  • very dark colored urine.

If we notice, however, they are fairly generic symptoms that could also be attributable to other types of cancer.

Unfortunately, despite research efforts, the direct causes of liver cancer are still unclear. Indeed, looking at the international data, provided by official sources, this type of tumor varies dramatically between the various geographical areas of the world. Very frequent in Asia, fortunately in Italy it is quite rare, and tends to strike especially after the age of sixty. The situation is different, however, when the liver is affected by metastasis from nearby organs. This often happens precisely because this fundamental organ, acting as a sponge and a scavenger, receives blood from the other organs. And, precisely in these cases he falls ill, due to the “fault” of his neighbors.

Who are the subjects most at risk

Despite its peculiarity, liver cancer generally tends to affect certain people who are at risk. Those, for example, who maybe even for work are at risk of hepatitis. Serial alcohol users and overweight people. Also in this case, prevention is fundamental and passes for example from compulsory vaccination for all children. Vaccination which becomes very important even for those who have to travel and work frequently in less developed countries with poor hygiene.
