New Simplification Bill Approved by Government to Cut Bureaucracy in Various Sectors
The Italian government has approved a simplification bill aimed at reducing bureaucracy in various sectors, making it easier for citizens to interact with public administration. According to Minister of Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, the goal is to make the public administration “not as an obstacle but as an opportunity” for citizens.
One of the key changes introduced by the bill is the expansion of services offered by pharmacies. Pharmacies will now be able to administer all types of vaccines to individuals over 12 years of age, as well as conduct essential clinical tests like blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Additionally, citizens will now have the ability to choose their family doctor and pediatrician from those affiliated with the regional health service.
In the tourism sector, becoming a mountain guide will be easier with access to the first level of the profession simplified. Hotel facilities will also have the opportunity to obtain temporary concessions on public roads for parking and loading and unloading baggage. The bill also aims to strengthen incoming health checks in anticipation of the 2025 Jubilee.
In the education sector, enrollment in primary and secondary schools will be simplified through a new single platform for families and students. The system will allow state educational institutions to directly access necessary data and documents, eliminating the need for parents to provide paper certificates from previous years. Additionally, limits will be set on the number of school years a student can recover with a single exam.
The bill also simplifies the process for building on properties with historical, artistic, archaeological, or cultural significance. Silent consent will now apply to building permit procedures for these properties, streamlining the approval process and reducing waiting times.
Other changes introduced by the bill include simplifying the process for obtaining sworn translations and digitizing authorizations for burial, cremation, and other related processes. The law also provides aid to companies providing gardening services to dispose of their waste more easily.
