Naples Charity Dinner Raises 24,000 Euros for Rebuilding Gym in Casamicciola
In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity towards Casamicciola, a municipality on the island of Ischia that is rebuilding after a devastating landslide in November 2022, a charity dinner organized in Naples has raised 24,000 euros. The event, organized by Valentina De Nunzio and Ester Chianelli with the association “The Charity Night,” saw the participation of many Neapolitans who came together to support the cause.
The funds raised from the dinner will be delivered to the Municipality of Casamicciola to build a gym in the De Gasperi public school. This new space will provide children on the island with a place to play sports in the mornings and afternoons throughout the year.
Valentina De Nunzio expressed her joy at being able to contribute to the renovation of the gym at the De Gasperi school, stating, “This year we returned to the field to help with the renovation of the gym at the De Gasperi school. To do this we organized this charity event at the Posillipo Theater where the many Neapolitans who love Casamicciola and wanted to make a contribution participated to help the children of the island.”
Entrepreneurs, university professors, and professionals all joined the dinner to give their support to the cause. Ester Chianelli highlighted the importance of embracing projects that benefit the youth, stating, “We are trying to embrace a project created this year so that the children of Casamicciola can look to their future with optimism.”
Giosi Ferrandino, mayor of Casamicciola, also attended the dinner and expressed gratitude for the support from Naples. He emphasized the longstanding relationship between Ischia and Naples and the positive impact the new gym will have on the youth of Casamicciola.
The successful charity event exemplifies the generosity and compassion of the community, showing that Naples has a big heart and is ready to make important gestures to support those in need. Plans are already in place for future projects to benefit the youth and the future of the island of Ischia.
