The doctor from 2018 held the position of acting function of the structure that has already started a quality path that will lead her to achieve the ISO9000 certification
Stelvio Sestini is the new director of the complex nuclear medicine structure of the Santo Stefano hospital, inserted in the corporate diagnostic imaging department headed by Dr. Sandro Santini.
The five-year management position was conferred following the completion of the selection procedures and the evaluation of the curriculum.
Dr. Sestini, former acting director of the structure, graduated from the University of Florence in 1993 and specialized in nuclear medicine in 1998. Also at the University of Florence he obtained his doctorate in 2004. research in applied clinical pathophysiology. Since 1999 Sestini has been medical director in the Prato hospital and since 2018 he has taken on the role of acting director of nuclear medicine.
A brilliant curriculum that of Sestini in which numerous participations in conferences as a teacher and a scientific production in the first name strictly pertinent to the discipline published in national and international journals stand out. Precisely for the activity carried out in the field of nuclear medicine and for the scientific awards received, the professional was appointed coordinator of the nuclear neurology study group of the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine.

On this front, a reorganization of the access routes has already been carried out, the performances of which are diversified according to different parameters: the phase of the disease, the type of pathology, the identification of resources to support medical-nuclear processes, always considering the patient as the recipient of the service “.
