In 31 public health facilities in Italy, only conscientious objecting doctors work and it is therefore impossible to terminate a pregnancy. But it is also not clear where to have an abortion, because there is a lack of specific data on individual health facilities. 44 years have passed since May 22, 1978, the date of entry into force of law 194 on abortion, and even today access to voluntary termination of pregnancy – in the acronym Ivg – can be an obstacle course, further complicated during the pandemic.
