Demolition Begins on Building Attached to Dante Alighieri High School for New Gyms
Demolition operations have started on the building connected to the ‘Dante Alighieri’ classical high school in Piazza Anita Garibaldi. This reconstruction project, funded by the Province of Ravenna with a budget of 5.5 million euros, is set to transform the space into two new gyms and related services.
The project, financed with Pnrr Funds and the Fund for non-deferrable works, will see the construction of a new, structurally independent unit. This unit will be connected to the school building to ensure direct accessibility for students and to eliminate architectural barriers with the installment of a new lift.
The new gym block is designed to accommodate multiple class groups simultaneously and will boast technical and functional features aimed at enhancing motor science activities. Additionally, the new facility will be open to the community outside of school hours, with independent access and separate systems from the school building.
The transformation of the building attached to Dante Alighieri High School represents a significant investment in both the school and the local community. The project aims to improve the overall physical education experience for students and provide a valuable resource for community members seeking a modern and accessible fitness facility.
