Lindsey Parr Gritton, an American woman, received the terrible diagnosis of stage four cancer: doctors had given her a few months to live, but she managed to completely defeat the cancer.
A few days before giving birth, the doctors had given her up as a goner: they had diagnosed her with terminal breast cancer, telling her that the treatments would most likely not be able to save her life. Lindsey Parr Gritton, a 31-year-old American, had then given birth to her son and had prepared herself for the idea that she would never see him grow up. Instead, six months later the woman was declared “miraculously” cured and today, two years later, there is no longer any trace of that cancer.
Lindsey was just 29 years old and 36 weeks pregnant with her second child when she went to the gynecologist for a routine check-up: the woman had been suffering from intense pain in one breast for some time and had a small lump and swollen lymph nodes near her armpit. Doctors told her not to worry because it was simple mastitis, an inflammation of the breast tissue that could have been caused by a blocked milk duct or a bacterial infection.
However, the 29-year-old insisted on an ultrasound of the lump, which was found to be “highly suspicious of cancer”. Further testing revealed stage four breast cancer with liver metastasis to her liver. Within a week Mrs Gritton was induced to deliver her baby early and, a few days after the baby was born, she started chemotherapy. “The results were terrifying and heartbreaking,” she said in a recent speech. “Suddenly I was labeled a stage four cancer patient and given a prognosis of six months to live.”

Instead, things went differently. About three months into treatment, ultrasounds showed that the woman’s tumors were shrinking. Six months later, everything was gone and he had no signs of illness. Today, Lindsey is the mother of two beautiful children.
