The first therapeutic garden in Italy will be born in Cesena, inside a public park, intended for Alzheimer’s patients. The project, presented by the Maratona Alzheimer Foundation, will be created in the area of ​​the public gardens of Cesena, on the side overlooking Corso Garibaldi. The designer is Professor Andrea Mati, while the Maratona Alzheimer Foundation relies on Giardineria Italiana for the works. At the basis of the project idea is the theme of travel: a guided journey along a series of sensorial and perceptive-emotional stimuli that involve and reactivate the sense of smell, touch and sight, stimulating long-term memory .

The Maratona Alzheimer Foundation, the partners Anap Confartigianato, Confartigianato Cesena and Banca di Credito Cooperativo Romagnolo, in sharing the realization of the project of the first Italian Alzheimer’s Garden in a public park in Cesena, in addition to its therapeutic use, have proposed the idea of ​​a attendance by the entire community and to create a social innovation laboratory. The aim is for the Garden to also become the hub of the “In the center for Alzheimer’s” initiative, a social laboratory.
