Forlì Host Lions Club Makes Generous Donation to Local School
The Forlì Host Lions Club, under the leadership of chairperson Alessandra Ascari Raccagni, continues to make a positive impact on the education of local students. After previously donating teaching materials and software to the “Glauco Fiorini” school in Villafranca, the club recently made a substantial donation to the primary school of Roncadello.
The primary school, part of the “Beatrice Portinari” comprehensive institute, was in need of new gym equipment following damage from a flood in May 2023. The Forlì Host Lions Club stepped in and delivered mats, mattresses, and fitness circles valued at 2,400 euros to replace the damaged equipment. This donation will help ensure that students have access to safe and functional equipment for physical education classes.
The funds for the donation were raised through various initiatives, including participation in Traders for a Day and a charity fundraiser organized by club member Caterina Rondelli. Additionally, the Lions Clubs Foundation for Solidarity provided a contribution upon request during the previous financial year.
In addition to the gym equipment, the Forlì Host Lions Club has also ordered two hive furniture units for the school in Roncadello to store school bags. This additional donation, worth 3,500 euros, is being funded by the Lions District 108a Foundation.
Alessandra Ascari Raccagni, chairperson of the Forlì Host Lions Club, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to support the local community, stating, “We are proud to be able to make a positive impact on the education and wellbeing of students in Roncadello. Our club is committed to serving those in need and we will continue to support educational institutions in any way we can.”
