The fourth year students who won the Lilt competition

The Valsassinese Institute, located in Casargo, has recently achieved further recognition in the field of culinary arts. Just a few days after their victory in the RistorExpo competition, the institute’s students have triumphed once again in the “Food, Taste and Health” competition.

The competition, organized by the LILT Association of Lecco, focused on the importance of health, prevention, and healthy food choices. Fourteen hotel institutes from various Lombard provinces, with Lecco as the project leader, participated in the event. The objective was to create a menu that promotes a healthy lifestyle and emphasizes the importance of consuming nutritious foods for overall well-being and prevention of diseases.

The winning team from the province of Lecco was the fourth-class students from the Cfpa of Casargo, who were mentored by Chef Luca Villa, Master Rino Iannace, Pastry Chef Pierpaolo Magni, and Professor of Food Science and Technology Mattia Ferraroli.

The winning menu, “The Lario in a bite” and “Taco without worries,” showcased ingredients rich in beneficial properties and flavors that are ideal for prevention and personal well-being. The students’ creativity and dedication to creating healthy and delicious dishes impressed the judges and secured their victory in the competition.

“We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students and their teachers,” said Marco Cimino, Director of the Valsassinese Institute. “This success is a testament to the high-quality training provided at our institute and the commitment of our students to excel in their craft.”

Francesco Maria Silverij, President of Apaf, also expressed his satisfaction with the institute’s success, highlighting the importance of participating in such competitions to not only showcase the students’ skills but also to contribute to projects of social importance within the community.
