The project for a multipurpose center worth 3.4 million euros approved by the junta. Councilor Latrofa: “The area is the one next to the football field that has already been recovered”
PISA The municipal administration has presented a new project to intercept Pnrr funds.
This is an expression of interest addressed to the provincial capital municipalities for the selection of proposals aimed at the recovery of urban areas, through the construction of sports facilities as part of the NRP.
The council approved the preliminary design of the new multipurpose sports facility to be built in the Cep district, inserting it within the variation of the three-year public works program, for the period 2022-24. Together with the new gym, which provides for an investment of 3.4 million euros, other projects have been included, including maintenance of the Ospedaletto kennel for 80 thousand euros, of Palazzo Lanfranchi for 150 thousand euros, of minor sports facilities for 150 thousand euros. , in addition to the construction of a fence for the urban park that is being built between via Bixio and via Battisti, for 185 thousand euros.
“We have approved – explains the commissioner for public works Raffaele Latrofa – the preliminary project to build a new large multipurpose sports facility at the Cep, right next to the football field which has recently been redeveloped. A work that involves a total investment of 3.4 million euros, for which we have submitted a request for funding equal to 2.5 million euros to be obtained through Pnrr funds to which 607 thousand euros are added to use an old tied contribution to the construction of sports facilities at the Cep. These are funds transferred from Apes to the Municipality as compensation for the construction of public housing built in place of the historic soccer field in the neighborhood. A loan that had remained completely unused over the years, to which we will then add another 300 thousand euros as a Municipality. If we win this new funding, we will build a gym where basketball, volleyball, handball, gymnastics at various levels can be practiced and where there will be a grandstand for the public and a changing room services body. In addition, the project includes a gym dedicated to the practice of boxing, which is one of the historical sports, together with rowing, practiced in the Cep district, with spaces for physical preparation and training. Finally, the connection to the existing road network and the parking facilities serving the structure are foreseen. A great financing opportunity for which we have made ourselves ready, with the hope that we can win it to create a fundamental sports facility for the neighborhood ».
