Does the card cost more and more? So companies make it at home, using – and here the beauty comes from the environmental side – recycled materials, that is, using their own waste. Leading the way is Brunello Cucinelli.
The Italian fashion brand has trusted PaperLab, an imposing Epson system in which the paper destined for pulping is digested, re-processed and ejected as new.
A magic? Not really. PaperLab is based on Epson’s Dry Fiber technology, which allows it to produce up to 720 A4 or 360 A3 sheets per hour. It is interesting to note that this paper production does not require the use of any liquid raw material. That is, it is a dry process that avoids the use of water. Everything revolves around Dry Fiber Technology.
Epson makes a calculation by the way by ensuring that the system avoids the so-called cup of water needed to produce the classic A4 sheet.
The installation, whose dimensions are not trivial – the width reaches almost 3 meters, for a depth of 1.43 meters and a height of 2 -, therefore would not even require connections to pipes. And there is also talk of low use of electricity even if it must not be easy to transform the paper to be recycled into long and thin cottony fibers which then come out if correctly added to binders, dyes and even customized perfumes when needed.
