by admin

Severe flooding in central China’s Henan province has cut off electricity at Apple’s largest iPhone manufacturing site in Zhengzhou City. The workers of the industrial center have declared that the water has penetrated in many areas of production and that there have been temporary interruptions of electricity; while many of them, who live in the production area, were asked not to show up at the workplace.

The damage to the industrial hub appears limited, according to Foxconn Technology Group, the company that manages the three Chinese factories that produce more than half of the world‘s iPhones. On the Chinese social network Weibo, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company will contribute donations to the relief plans implemented in the area. Shares of Apple on the market are down 0.40%.
