Two Granada residents shine in the latest MIR exam, and choose the same path
Julia Castro and Pedro José Ezomo, both from Granada, have made remarkable achievements in the latest MIR exam. They have both secured positions in the Dermatology specialty and will start their training at Virgen de las Nieves and the Clínico respectively on May 7. They express their excitement about this new chapter in their professional journey, emphasizing that this is just the beginning of their path.
Julia and Pedro share a desire for improvement in the healthcare system, believing that health problems can be better addressed with improved working conditions rather than just more doctors. Julia ranked 59th in the MIR exam, out of over 12,800 Medicine graduates competing for the 8,772 available MIR places this year.
For Julia, her passion for Dermatology began early on. With an exceptional academic background, she knew her calling was in this specialty. Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic during her undergraduate studies, Julia remained dedicated to pursuing her dream.
Pedro’s journey to Dermatology was unique, as he initially graduated in Nursing before pursuing Medicine. Despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic, Pedro continued his studies and dedicated long hours to prepare for the MIR exam, ultimately securing a place in his desired specialty.
