Google Chrome has long been the browser’s only overlord on both computer and mobile platforms, but it has a different situation in North America. With the market share of iOS devices, Apple has allowed Safari to surpass Chrome on mobile platforms to become the leading overlord.

According to the Bankless Times report, Safari ranked first in the North American market in May with a market share of nearly 50% (49.98%), ahead of Chrome’s 43.91%. The reason is that the iPhone has a market share of up to 55% in the US market, the built-in browser Safari is therefore cheaper, and the use of less memory, as well as device integration and iCloud synchronization are the keys to defeating Chrome.

Except for Apple and Google, there is a clear gap in the market share of other competitors. Samsung has only 3.94%, FireFox has 1.22%, and Opera has 0.45%. Microsoft Edge is still not common in the mobile market, only 0.23%.

If all platforms are counted, Chrome can regain its dominance, especially in computers with 59.72% of the market, far ahead of Safari’s 14.19%. If the whole platform is used as a calculation, Chrome comes to 51%, Safari ranks second with 33%, and Edge ranks third with 5.66%.
