2nd T20: New Zealand beat Pakistan by 21 runs

New Zealand set Pakistan a target of 195 runs to win in the second T20I to be played in Hamilton on Sunday.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi once again decided to field first after winning the toss, while New Zealand batted first and scored 194 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

When New Zealand’s innings started, this time David Conway saved his wicket and scored 59 runs in the first wicket partnership with Finn Allen.

Conway scored 20 runs and was dismissed by Aamir Jamal, then Kane Williamson came in to bat. Kane Williamson was retired after scoring 26 runs on a total score of 111.

Soon Finn Allen also returned to the pavilion after playing a stormy innings of 74 runs off 41 balls.

After him, no Kiwi batsman could settle down and New Zealand’s wickets kept falling. Daryl Mitchell scored 17, Glen Phillips scored 13 and Mitchell Santner scored 25 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Haris Rauf took three wickets for 38 runs.

Abbas Afridi dismissed two players for 43 runs while Aamir Jamal and Usama Mir took one wicket each.
