ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter) The participants of the 33rd Senior Management Course of the National School of Public Policy, NIM, Karachi visited the Federal Board of Revenue headquarters on Tuesday as part of their ongoing mandatory training. Thirty seven participants of the course. Belonged to various Federal Professional Groups, Provincial Civil Services, Economist Group and Allied Services.
After recitation of Fatiha at the Martyrs Memorial, the participants were given a detailed briefing on revenue collection strategy and related challenges by FBR as well as organizational structure, key policies and operational aspects of Inland Revenue and Customs. FBR Chairman Asim Ahmed and Member Administration Nadeem Hussain Rizvi also briefed the participants on documenting the economy, meeting set revenue targets, digitization of taxpayer information and anti-trafficking operations.
Chairman FBR briefed the participants about the steps being taken to broaden the tax base and also informed about outreach programs to bring potential small taxpayers across Pakistan into the tax net.
Later Chief Instructor NIM Karachi Abdul Khaliq thanked Chairman FBR for giving a detailed presentation. On this occasion, Chairman FBR also expressed his best wishes for the future of the participants.
