“We are outraged by the death of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, for which ultimate responsibility lies with (Russian) President (Vladimir) Putin and the Russian authorities,” EU Ambassador Lotte Knudsen told the United States Human Rights Council on behalf of the 43 countries. in Geneva.

Navalny was one of the best-known political opponents of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He served a nineteen-year prison sentence for ‘extremism’ in a prison camp, where he died on Friday, February 16, according to prison authorities.
